He has said in the letter that the report is being used as a new campaign against the Congress and hence there is a need for the party to discuss the controversies that have come up with the report of CAG. The report is being used as a new corruption scandal against the Congress which would adversely affect the image of the party.
Already former KPCC president V M Sudheeran has urged the state government to go for a probe based on the findings by the CAG which had reported serious lapses from the part of the previous UDF government while inking the agreement with Adani Ports.
Other than the "A" group, the other leaders in the party are using the report as a tool to fight against Oommen Chandy within the party. They are also of the opinion that Chandy had finalised the terms and conditions of the agreement without even discussing it in the party or with the KPCC leadership before singing it.
"There is no need for anyone to give a letter to discuss this issue. The political affairs committee meets every month and all the relevant topics re discussed in this meeting. Hence the CAG report will also naturally come for discussion,’’ said KPCC president M M Hassan when asked about the letter given by V D Satheesan.

After the CAG report came out apart from V M Sudheeran no other leader had come out asking for a probe or for discussing the findings of the report in the party. It is the first time that a senior leader like V D Satheesan as sought a discussion on this within the party.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala however made it clear that there was nothing wrong in discussing the findings within the party.
